Privacy Policy

Effective October 28, 2026

Rich Dogue (“we”, “us”) makes handcrafted exotic leather dog collars and accessories. This policy explains what personal information we collect through richdogue.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

  • When you buy something. Checkout is handled by Stripe on its own secure page. To complete and deliver your order, Stripe collects and passes to us your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, billing address where required, the items you ordered and any promotion code you used. Your full card number and security code go to Stripe only; we never see or store them.
  • When you email us. If you write to us, for example about sizing, a harness fitting or a return, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, such as your dog’s measurements.
  • When you browse. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see how quickly pages load. It does not use cookies or similar storage on your device, does not fingerprint you, and does not identify individual visitors.

We do not offer accounts, a newsletter sign-up or any forms that collect personal information on this site, and we do not run advertising or social media tracking pixels.

How we use it

We use your information only to process, ship and support your order (including tracking updates, returns and exchanges), to answer your messages, to prevent fraud, to keep our site secure and working, and to keep the records the law requires, such as tax and accounting records. We do not send marketing emails. If we ever start a mailing list, it will be strictly opt-in, and every email will include an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the shop, and only as much as they need:

  • Stripe, for payments, sales-tax calculation, receipts and fraud prevention. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
  • USPS and our shipping-label and insurance service, which receive your name, shipping address and, where needed, your phone number, so that your order can be delivered and insured.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts and protects this website, provides the cookie-free visit counts described above and routes email sent to our address.
  • Our email provider, which stores the messages we exchange with you.
  • Wix, which hosted our previous online store and still holds records of any orders placed there.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising. We do not give it to other companies for their own marketing.

Cookies and tracking

richdogue.com does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to accept. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that a visitor is not a bot. When you click “Buy now”, you move to Stripe’s checkout page, where Stripe uses its own cookies to process your payment securely and prevent fraud.

Our Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest buttons are plain links. Nothing from those companies loads on our pages unless you click through to their sites, where their own privacy policies apply. No other company collects information about your activity across different websites through our site.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because we do not track visitors over time or across other websites, and we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing to switch off. Your browser’s Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control (GPC) setting therefore needs no further action from you. We treat a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of any sale or sharing, now and if our practices ever change.

Your choices and California privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep records we are legally required to retain, such as tax records for completed orders. We will never treat you differently for making a request.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information and do not disclose it to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 for California residents). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, please email us and we will delete it.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them to fulfil, insure, return or exchange your order, and then for as long as tax and accounting laws require, which is typically several years. We keep emails only as long as they are useful for helping you or for our records, and then delete them.

Security

This site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Payments are processed by Stripe, a certified PCI DSS Level 1 payment provider, so your card details never pass through our systems. We limit access to order information to the people who need it to run the shop. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

United States only

We sell and ship only within the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will also put a clear notice on our home page before it takes effect.
